General FAQ
Where can I park?
Metered parking is available street side on Classen Blvd. There is also a parking lot located on the west end of 18th street that runs behind the Victoria building. On Saturdays, the meter doesn’t run and parking is free. There is also parking available across Classen Blvd. but it’s only available only on Saturdays.

What does Teszeract mean?
A tesseract is a four dimensional analogue of a cube. It’s a concept in geometry and mathematics that serves to illustrate higher dimensions. Some people may recognize the term from the book “A Wrinkle in Time” by Madeleine L’Engle or from the Marvel Universe. Is this where we got our name? No, unfortunately not. Our owner is just a nerd and likes geometry, spacial concepts, and time. What a weirdo.
Can children come to Teszeract Salon?
While we are not geared toward being a salon for children, we have no issues working with kiddos. The only thing we ask is that an adult be present for their appointment if they are under 18. If they are accompanying you for your appointment please bring something for their entertainment and please do not let them jump on the furniture or run in the salon. This is for their safety and for ours.
Hair FAQ
How long do fantasy shades/vivid colors last?
Vivid hair colors are a type of direct dye. They are temporary colors that need to be applied to previously lightened hair in order to achieve vibrancy and longevity. Applying these colors to virgin hair won’t get you the desired color result and also won’t penetrate the hair shaft deep enough to provide longer wear. Having a good at-home care routine and spacing out your shampoo days are a great way to get the most out of your color but they’ll still need to be touched up and refreshed every 6-8 weeks. Frequent shampooing, hot water, sun exposure, hot tools, and poor care products can all compromise the life of your color.
Why can’t I get a quote for hair color over the phone?
Today, almost everyone has color treated hair and the journey to get you from where you are currently to where you want to be is different for everyone. Your hair history, it’s integrity, how much you’re willing to cut, the density of your hair, and maintenance routines all play a role in how easy (or not-so-easy) your desired result may be. Because of this, the work it takes to get two different people to the same end result can look completely different. That’s why it’s important to meet with a stylist and have a proper consultation before receiving a price quote. Our stylists want allllllll the info about your hair and from there they’ll make the best decisions about how to give you your next new look.
Why does permanent hair color still fade?
”Permanent hair color” is a very deceiving term. Honestly, we wish they would call it something different. The truth is hair color is designed to be removed. It’s not made of textile dyes or fabric dyes. Hair color companies know that their audience loves change and having color that can be safely removed is the best part of using professional hair color, but it also means that with every shampoo it’s going to lose it’s richness. It still needs to be refreshed to maintain that beautiful shine and vibrancy.
